Twin and Umbrella strollers explained

All parents know that it becomes a massive effort to get out of the house with your baby when there is so much stuff that you need to carry with you. Of course parents of twins or two similar age toddlers have that problem magnified. Twin strollers and umbrella strollers are certainly a big help with this problem as I show you below.

Twin Strollers and Umbrella Strollers

If you are the parent of two small children, then you
will find yourself in the market for a twin stroller.
A twin stroller is exactly what the name implies: a
stroller for two. There are two basic types of twin
strollers. The tandem stroller and the side-by-side
stroller.

A tandem stroller is a twin stroller in which one
child sits in front of the second child. They are
usually designed so that the older child sits up
front while the younger child brings up the rear.
Tandem strollers are great for families where one
child is a year or two older than the next.

In a side-by-side stroller the two children sit,
well, side-by-side. These work great for parents
of twins since the kids are about the same size.
It can be difficult pushing a side-by-side stroller
when one child is bigger than the other. The
difference in weight will cause the stroller to
pull toward one side.

The downside to the side-by-side style is that they
are extra wide and may not fit through all doorways.
Shopping can be next to impossible with a side-by-side
since many stores do not leave much room between aisles.
Also, many models do not have front bars or reclining
seats.

Umbrella Strollers

An umbrella stroller is a type of stroller that is
lightweight and is incredibly compact when folded. It
gets its name because when folded it resembles a
closed umbrella.

Umbrella strollers are by far the cheapest type of
stroller you can get but they usually do not have the
bells and whistles that more pricey strollers do.
There's a lot less padding, less storage space, and the
seats won't recline much.

On the other hand, they are light enough to throw in
and out of your car or carry up stairs with ease. But we
don't recommend them for everyday use. Most models will
just not hold up to the stresses of day-to-day use.

you're better off getting a nice carriage stroller for
everyday use. But, umbrella strollers do make ideal second
strollers for short trips to the mall, walks in the city,
and weekend getaways.

If you don't overuse or abuse it, an umbrella stroller can
be a convenient and inexpensive option for transporting
your child.

As you can see, a twin and umbrella stroller can certainly help parents to get out and about and should be encouraged.
